In 2017, for example, Lyft asked us to create a company picnic offering a fresh twist on classic summer camp fun. The event followed Lyft’s community service week, so employees were extra eager to unwind.

We rented out Spark Social, a food truck park and Biergarten in San Francisco’s Mission Bay neighborhood. On the day of the event, extra campy camp counselors greeted guests with pompoms while a live brass band played. Food trucks offered everything from ramen to acai bowls to craft beer. Stands provided DIY tattoos, a mini post office and build-your-own terrariums.
And then the games began. In the Ninja Warrior Dome, employees balanced on pedestals while jumping or ducking under motorized spinning booms. On the field, a giant chicken and a purple gorilla acted as soccer goalies. Employees bounced on toy unicorns to pop candy-colored balloons, and followed clues to discover a secret photo op.
The event was a resounding success, inspiring team-building and fostering community engagement at the employees blew off steam from community service week. It was just the kind of exuberant live event we specialize in at Trademark—and Lyft didn’t have to, well, lift a finger.
